The hospitality challenge
A kitchen full of steam and smoke produces false alarms from the wrong detector, and a pub with letting rooms or a flat above needs the residential and commercial areas protected properly. The detector type and coverage are chosen for each room, and sounders are set so they can be heard over a busy bar.
What we do
- Install or extend fire alarm systems
- Heat detectors in kitchens, smoke or multi-sensor devices elsewhere
- Linked alarms between the bar and upstairs accommodation
- Emergency lighting and its testing
- Servicing, testing and weekly test logbooks
- PAT testing and fixed wiring inspection (EICR)

Questions we get asked
Before you call.
Why does my kitchen keep setting off the alarm?
Usually because a smoke detector is fitted where steam or cooking fumes reach it. A heat detector is normally the right device for a kitchen.
Do pubs need emergency lighting?
Most do. It is covered by the fire risk assessment, and we can install and test it.
Can you test outside opening hours?
Yes. Testing is planned around trading.
